Lingerie Bowl IX: Los Angeles Temptation (4-1) at Philadelphia Passion (5-0)
Kickoff: 4:00 pm EST from Orleans Resort in Las Vegas
Favorite: Philadelphia by 4.5
Television: Live on MTV2
The defending Eastern Conference champion Philadelphia Passion have been favored in every game they’ve played all season. But they’ve also played every game this season with star running back Marirose Roach. Without their no. 1 playmaker and 70% of their 2011-12 offensive production in the lineup, it would seem to simply be too great a challenge to overcome the Western Conference champion and two-time defending champion Los Angeles Temptation.
Since losing to the Las Vegas Sin in their second game of the season, the Temptation have gotten their game in order and won three straight contests coming into their third straight Lingerie Bowl. With Roach in the lineup last season, the Temptation beat the Passion in Lingerie Bowl VIII by one point, 26-25.
Even though they are the betting line favorite and have dominated teams all season in the Eastern Conference, it would seem that the Philadelphia Passion have too much history to overcome in one afternoon without the league’s no. 1 playmaker on the field for them.
While the road to the Lingerie Bowl technically ends in Las Vegas, any team laying claim to the Lingerie Bowl throne needs to go through Los Angeles. The Temptation have played in the Lingerie Bowl every year that kickoff has actually taken place – and they’ve only lost the game once. It would seem that in 2012, an LFL three-peat is on.
Los Angeles will hoist its third consecutive Lingerie Bowl championship just before the kickoff of Super Bowl XLVI.
Temptation 35, Passion 21.
