Week 2 kicks off tonight (9/2) @ 10 pm ET/9 pm CT on MTV2. Las Vegas Sin @ Chicago Bliss. Las Vegas is an expansion team while the Bliss have been a part of the Lingerie Football League since the very beginning during it’s Pay-per-view hay-days.
The Weekly Fantasy Cap for the Fantazzle LFL Fantasy game are as follows:
$1,000,000 Fantasy Cap
QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, Off Flex, Def Flex, Def Flex
Similar to last week, I feel that the Quarterbacks are the key plays in Fantasy Lingerie Football. Starting this week, you can no longer use a QB for Offensive Flex. Also, most of the players are a lot higher in salary this week. It should be noted that as per contest rule, you must fill/complete all roster slots. There is no spending on a few expensive studs and leaving some spots void, because this is not allowed.
It is important to select one of the starters for your quarterback, but this week it is tricky when it comes to the Chicago Bliss. Their QB’s are Heather Furr, a stud at the all-fantasy game, and Stacey Jarrett (@ 250k and 150k respectively). Jarrett was the starters in previous seasons, until injury occurred. Furr was the star wide receiver in the past. On preseason notes, Furr is likely to get the start at the helm on Friday night. The other quarterbacks are Nikki Johnson (150k) and Joey Davenport (60k). It is noted by the LFL bloggers, that Nikki Johnson is mediocre at best compared to Heather Furr, but the hard decision is determining whether Furr gets all the snaps under center on game-day.
At running back, the top options for each team are Tasha Pryor and Tracee Thomas (250k each). According how yo spend elsewhere you can probably afford one or none. The 3rd best option at running back is Chrisdell Harris (150k) of the Bliss, although I don’t endorse this, who the LFL is comparing to Chris Johnson. Is Harris the rushing sleeper this week like Angela Matthews was last week that no one expected? Some of you might end up placing Mia Chambers (60k), like me, in your lineup as a roster filler. It is expected that Tracee Thomas gets the bulk of the workload for the Sin.
If there is one thing that has mentioned by the LFL experts over the past week is that, this week’s game, the offense of both teams will have a run first attitude. Personally, I feel Chicago is a pass-heavy team compared to other LFL teams, based on preseason research. It really boils down to this week, are you gonna spend most of your cap on good QB’s or good RB’s? That decision is up to you.
Mainly, my thinking there is too main approaches to lineup selection this week: 1) Go with Nikki Johnson (Davenport not worth consideration IMO), and splurge on running backs and/or flex position. 2) Grab Furr and/or Jarrett and grab 1-2 more studs.
With most of the key players 150k and above, you’ll have to use more 60k players than normal. Looking back on last week, wide receiver was a key fantasy contributor, but this week the WR position is where you should and try to take the cheap “route”. On receiving, the 60k options are Richelle Urenda for the Sin and Janet Phan and M. Disilvestro for Chicago Bliss, plan to have at least one or two of these roster fillers this week. One of the LFL bloggers picked Disilvestro for their fantasy lineup, so they may be a indication of the better pickup. Who knows, with two-way players for fantasy scoring purposes, one of them may just surprise and have a breakout game (not betting on it).
On defense, these are the lowest fantasy scoring. So until that changes, consider who the best offensive fantasy players are going to be. Then, rank them and whoever isn’t in your initial Offensive lineup slots, if you can still afford a marque player and they they are listed on defensive positions, take them. According to contest rules, players that go both ways get all (or double) points. So, even though Nikki Johnson is a defensive fantasy dud, take her on defensive flex, because fantasy points count on both sides of the ball for every player. It also is worth mentioning that DL Maddie McCoy and CB Tamica Estella (100k/250k) of the Las Vegas Sin are the defensive studs this week, per LFL scouting reports. McCoy also plays TE while Estella plays WR. To me McCoy is the poor man’s version of Estella. To me, McCoy is a key play this week who you should definitely have on your roster.
At Offensive flex, I was tore between two players. Stacey Jarrett, mentioned earlier, might surprisely start at QB and/or be a receiving/defensive dual threat. Really scared about leaving Jarrett off the roster. At the same price (both are 150k), I picked Cassandra Strickland who is designated as a fantasy impact breakout rookie. This was by far my hardest lineup decision. Should I go with the proven (coming off injury) Jarrett or pick the starting rookie with major upside? Only time will tell if I made the right choice.
